JULY 2020 - 'Don't be like Barry' film series

Well I got a new lens for my camera, an Anamorphic one, Sirui 50mm. Basically wide screen cinema type lens, the cheapest one ever made and it is great. So looking for some test projects, I decided that I should try and help educate the litterers and dirty campers that have emerged since lockdown. Obviously I have been making some official films on responsible travel, but I wanted a bit more edge to it and possible comedy. I think the idea stemmed from some Aussie or kiwi hard hitting adverts I’d seen in the past.

Anyway I wrote a few scripts and then tried to find a person willing to be Barry which took a bit of thought. Scott from the Pine Marten Bar at loch Morlich was keen though after several nights of picking up litter from the beach. 9 bags his first night!

Anyway here are the first two and 3 more to follow:) Hopefully it helps a little, worth trying something anyway. As of today the first one has 92K views on facebook and the 2nd one has 54K. A few less on youtube which is always the way:)

JULY 2019 - Ground filming and aerial filming with Beluga lagoon always fun

Spent five days with Andrew and Mark from Beluga Lagoon films on the North coast of Scotland as they cycled from Jon O’Groats to Cape Wrath on a tandem bicycle.

It was a week of mixed weather and a variety of landscapes and fun from lots of fog to sunshine, broken chains, dinner in a cave, boat trips, camping wild and swimming in the North Atlantic:)

To break up the cycling a bit we got into my mate Dougs boat and went out to see the North Coast as seen from the sea and get a look at the massive rugged cliffs out there.

A few pics from the week below:) It will appear on BBC iplayer later in the year as one of three adventures with this pair. Check out Beluga Lagoon on facebook to see other films by Andrew:)

APRIL 2018: Ride Cairngorm opening

A mate Nash opens a shop in Boat of Garden called Ride Cairngorm so I go along to make a couple of wee films for the opening and his webpage.   Danny MacAskill and the Drop and Roll team were there to put on a show. Was a great day with over 4000 people there throughout the day.

Danny MacAskill and his team from Drop and Roll help open Nash's shop with a brilliant display of their stunts at Ride Cairngorm in Boat of Garten. Right next to the StrathSpey Steam engine. It was a brilliant day with over 4000 people coming through the village that day.
Ride Cairngorm Shop. Bit of riding here from Nash around Aviemore and a look inside his shop in the first month of opening.
